VMWare / Server2008 / Terminal Server

Hi all,

I'm trying to get USB for Remote Desktop to work.
My problem is, that the Server-App shows no connections. Just nothing.

I tried all possible "chronologies" (start server app first, then client app, then RDP, ...) but the server-app still remains empty.

In one threat I read, that there seems to be a known problem with Terminal Services.

I'm just not sure, if this still exists...

-----
Does anyone know a solution to get USB-devices to work with Terminal Server RDP Sessions?
-----

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Horst

P.S. Could USB over Ethernet be a possible solution for that?

We need to know the information about your operating systems.
The model of the device.
The version of our product.
Also we need to know whether you updated our software. If yes then how did you do that?

Also please check if your device works locally and try to use any other device with our USB for RDP.

Awaiting your feedback.

Hi,

Client: IGEL Thin Client
Windows XP Embedded Standard, SP3
Pre-Installed USB for Remote Desktop 2.4

Server: Virtualized Hardware via VMWare
Windows Server 2008 Standard (64 Bit)
Trial Version of USB for Remote Desktop 2.5 ("fresh" installed)

USB devices are recognized by WIN XP embedded and "can be used".

Should it work in Terminal Server Session, that each Session has its own USB-devices?

Thanks in advance,
Horst

As I can see you installed different versions of USB for RDP: on the server you have version 2.5 but on the client you have version 2.4. Please install identical
versions of the product on both PCs.

As soon as you enter terminal session with your device redirected, all other users (even though they have their own accounts) can see this device. Our software emulates as if a device is really plugged into terminal server.

By the way we have released the newest version of the product - it's 2.5.1
You are welcome to test and evaluate it!
